This is my third published Add-on for BlogEngine.Net. A few days ago I came across the Wordpress Digg Digg plugin. A Wonderful Plugin that makes social bookmarking buttons float as you scroll the page. A very neat way to encourage people to share your posts. This is the BlogEngine.Net version of that plugin. It’s based on Mattia Baldinger’s Excellent AddThis.Net Extension for BlogEngine.Net. Here’s a couple of screenshots which gives you a clue on how it looks like: There are 4 places where you can place social bookmarking buttons using AddThis.Net (TopLeft/Right and Bottom Left/Right). You can make any one of these 4 places float using the extension’s settings page: Once you’ve set the desired group to float vertically, Start to play with left/right margin (depending on your blog layout) to place them in the appropriate place. Also, if you have not added jQuery to your blog, you can upload the jQuery file to your blog and set its address in the setting’s page so it will be added to your page if needed by the extension. If you have added jQuery to your blog, leave this field empty. As you scroll down the page, the floating bookmarking buttons will scroll down as well and never get off the viewer’s sight. Note: The extension automatically doesn’t render floating buttons when you’re not viewing a single post. This way people can view you blog’s post list without any trouble.
